Let Freedom Ring - color

So, I love the Sean Hannity show. I'm not a big fan of country music, but he has this wonderful song as his opening called 'Independence Day' by Martina McBride. I love that song. I had it on repeat on my iPod today and thought 'hmm... this chorus works for my character Freedom' and this picture was born.

This is the first time that I broke down and did an entire American flag in color. Not because I have anything against our flag. Quite the opposite, actually, I'm rather fond of it, but those starts are very difficult. And, being a poor college student, I haven't replaced my regular blue marker, being that prismas are nearly $5 and that is what I use. They're quality, don't get me wrong, but expensive nevertheless.


I'm generally happy with the way this turned out. I never have animals in my drawings beecause I'm horrible at them, therefore the doves are my least favorite. I do, though, love how Freedom is always smiling. She truly is one of my favorite characters.

I will probably be tweeking this for days, but I thought I'd post it now since I've put so much work into it. Woot!
